The Peach Walls
A legacy of a flourishing horticultural past, the Peach Walls of Montreuil once formed a huge network of plots where peaches ripened for the tables of Versailles. More than 30 kilometres remain today, preserved by associations tending community gardens, educational plots and orchards. An unusual, bucolic walk, perfect for a curious date.
Croix-de-Chavaux and République
Around Croix-de-Chavaux, a lively square in lower Montreuil, the best nights of the town take shape: terraces, wine bars, concerts and the famous Méliès Cinema, one of the biggest art-house cinemas in France. On Place de la République, Wednesdays and Saturdays bring a cosmopolitan market: a city bath to share.
Montreau Park and Beaumonts
In the upper town, Montreau Park and especially Beaumonts Park offer a rare slope for the suburbs, paths and a clear view of Paris. Birdwatchers scan for migrating passerines. On Lyad, Montreuil members share their cafés, artist studios and good ideas; it is up to you to find someone to enjoy them with.
